NEET 2026 Preparation Strategy: A Month-by-Month Plan for Navi Mumbai Students

June 10, 2026 7 min read

Every year, lakhs of students appear for NEET, and only a fraction secure a government medical seat. The difference rarely comes down to intelligence — it comes down to planning. Here is the month-by-month strategy we use with our NEET students at Nidaan Career, Kamothe, Navi Mumbai.

June–August: Build the Foundation

Cover NCERT Biology line-by-line — around 80% of NEET Biology questions come directly or indirectly from NCERT. In parallel, complete Class 11 Physics and Chemistry fundamentals: mechanics, physical chemistry (mole concept, atomic structure) and basic organic chemistry (GOC). Target 4–5 focused study hours daily, with weekly chapter tests.

September–November: Complete the Core Syllabus

Finish Class 12 topics: human physiology, genetics, organic chemistry reactions and electrochemistry, and Class 12 Physics (electrostatics, current electricity, optics). Start solving previous 10 years' NEET question papers chapter-wise. Maintain an error notebook — every wrong answer is a future mark.

December–February: Revision and Mock Tests

Your first full revision cycle. Take one full-length mock test every week under exam conditions (3 hours 20 minutes, 200 questions). Analyse each test the same day: identify weak chapters, silly mistakes and time-management issues. Aim to raise your score by 20–30 marks each month.

March–April: Final Sprint

Shift to two mocks per week plus daily NCERT revision. Re-read your error notebook instead of new material. Focus on high-weightage topics: Human Physiology, Genetics, Organic Chemistry and Mechanics together account for nearly half the paper. Sleep well, keep a steady routine, and avoid last-minute resource changes.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Ignoring NCERT in favour of heavy reference books.
  • Taking mock tests without analysing them afterwards.
  • Studying new topics in the last month instead of revising.
  • Neglecting Physics numericals — they decide the top ranks.
